Building History of Main Routes of Taiwan Railway
1.  Definition of Railway Route :
The place of operation of trains or carriages, including construction of the track, the roadbed which bears the track, bridges and culverts is called the Route.
  In general, the track is composed of ballast, ties, rails and fastenings. It is the construction which trains and carriages pass over. The section of route is shown in figure 1.

2. Construction of Track:
The track, on the roadbed is composed of ballast, tie, rails and fastenings. The ladder structure, composed of ties and rails, is called the track skeleton. The general construction of a section of track is shown as figure 2.
